Guy-- sorry I didn't reply eariler. Since you didn't ask a question I didn't realize you were expecting a comment back to your comment. :-) My eyes have changed their prescriptions so many times in the past few years. Likewise there have been many times when my eyes stayed the same but I needed new aids. I would hate to change both every time one or the other changed. Having said that, I know they used to make hearing aids with eyeglasses attached a long time ago. I wonder if they stopped making them because they weren't very popular?

I hope you have a nice summer too. Take care.

Sorry - I never did see your reply until to-day. As you now know, I am still fishing. Cannot find what I am looking for which is eye glasses with built in hearing aid. There is one abroad - Switzerland I think that may eventually market in the US and/or Canada. I can only hope some company makes it a prority. If anything pops up that is interesting I will post the info. Tks & hope your summer is not as hot as mine.

I read everything I can about hearing aids. I am a first time user trying yo make a decision, Songbird interests me and I currently have a trial device. I was hoping that there would be eyeglasses with built in hearing aids - seems like such a natural with to-days ability to make everything so small. Still looking and hoping.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't care what a hearing aid looked like or how big and noticeable it was, if only I could find one that enhanced speech recognition--that would be great!! The fact that manufacturers are attempting to lessen the stigma of wearing a hearing device or aid by innovation with regard to fashion and design, doesn't keep me from wishing someone could just find a way to correct hearing as easily as vision. Apples and oranges, I know.

Most hearing people I know think that hearing aids do restore lost hearing in the same way eyeglasses or contacts restore vision, but it just ain't so.

Still and all, it is good that people with hearing loss have more options now than ever before. Thanks for the interesting info!!
